[03]Approach

How we work.

01

Senior-led delivery

The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it.

02

Short cycles

Small, frequent releases over big-bang launches. You see working software early and often.

03

Clear scope and cost

You know the scope and the price before we start. No open-ended billing and no surprise invoices.

04

Shipped, not demoed

We take it to production: the app stores, the web, the build. Done means live.

An Altis Koten studio

Kōten is the product studio of Altis Koten, an independent software and AI practice based in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.

We work with small and mid-sized companies, startups and product teams that need a clear scope, a real first release, and an engineering partner who stays accountable.

[05]FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is Kōten and what does the studio do?
Kōten (the crossing point) is a software and game studio that scopes, builds and ships mobile apps, web apps and games. It is the product studio of Altis Koten SRL, an independent software practice based in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. The name reflects how the studio works: each product sits at an intersection of a need, a form and a stage, taken from idea to a shipped release.
Where is Kōten based and which regions does it serve?
Kōten is based in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. The studio works with clients across Belgium, Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands and Germany. It serves small and mid-sized companies, startups and product teams that need a clear scope, a real first release and an engineering partner who stays accountable.
What does Kōten build, and with which technologies?
Kōten builds three things: mobile apps, web apps and games. Mobile apps target iOS and Android from a single codebase with React Native, Expo and Flutter. Web apps are typed end to end and server-rendered with Next.js, TypeScript and Supabase. Games are built with Unity and C#, covering mechanics, systems and the tooling behind them.
How does Kōten work with clients?
Kōten works in a senior-led way: the person who scopes a project is the person who builds it. Work runs in short cycles with small, frequent releases, so clients see working software within the first cycles. The scope is agreed before work starts, and every project is taken to production (the app stores, the web, the build) rather than left as a demo.
Who owns the code and intellectual property Kōten produces?
The client owns the code and the intellectual property it pays Kōten to build. Deliverables are handed over so the client can run, maintain and extend them, and the code is written to be readable for the next developer. Specific ownership and license terms are set out in each project agreement.
What is the relationship between Kōten and Altis Koten?
Kōten is the product studio of Altis Koten SRL. Altis Koten is an independent software and AI practice based in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, that also runs a Salesforce and AI-governance consulting side at altiskoten.com. Kōten is the part of Altis Koten that scopes, builds and ships mobile apps, web apps and games.
Does Kōten build its own products?
Yes. Kōten builds first-party products in-house, including Konek (a mobile app for community and leisure), Apportia (a mobile platform for business referrals), Fideloop (wallet-native loyalty on the web) and Ryvax (a game). These are first-party products in active development, not client work. The same engineering practices apply to both.
