Our work, staged

What we do

We design and build websites and mobile apps for freelancers, small businesses and start-ups. The price and the date are set before we start, and we see it through to launch.

  1. A website your customers find on Google and read easily on their phone. We design it, build it, put it online and lay the groundwork for search engines. From €490 excl. VAT.

  2. One app for iPhone and Android, built once instead of twice. We also take care of publishing it on the App Store and Google Play.

  3. Three website packages, from €490, €990 and €1,990 excl. VAT. For an app, the price is set after a short brief, before the first line of code.

Approach

How we work.

  • You talk to the person who builds it

The person who answers your first message is the one who writes the code. Nobody in between.

  • You see results early

You have something to look at within the first few weeks, then at regular intervals. No big reveal after months of waiting.

  • A price agreed before we start

You know what it costs and what you get before any work begins. No open-ended billing, no nasty surprises.

  • We see it through to launch

Your website goes online. Your app is published on the App Store and Google Play. Done means live, not a demo.

Your questions, answered.

What is Kōten Studio?

Kōten Studio (sometimes written Koten Studio) is an independent studio that designs and builds websites and mobile apps, based in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. It works with self-employed people, small businesses and startups in Belgium, Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands and Germany.

How much does a website cost?

At Kōten Studio, a custom website costs from €490 excl. VAT for a brochure site, from €990 excl. VAT with Google SEO, visitor statistics and two languages, and from €1,990 excl. VAT with advanced features such as booking or an online shop. The exact price is fixed before work starts, and it only changes if your request changes.

How much does a mobile app cost?

The cost of a mobile app depends mainly on how many screens it has and whether it needs user accounts, payments and a server. Kōten Studio sets the price after a short brief, before the first line of code. One codebase covers both iPhone and Android, so you do not pay for two apps.

How long does it take to build a website or an app?

How long a website or an app takes depends on the size of the project, and you are given the delivery date before work starts. Work moves in short cycles, so you see a first version within the first few weeks, not just at the end.

Who owns the website or app once the project is finished?

The website or app belongs to you. The code and the rights to what you paid for are yours, and everything is handed over so you can run it, change it or pass it to another developer. The exact terms are set out in each contract.

What technology do you use?

Kōten Studio builds websites with Next.js, TypeScript and Supabase, and mobile apps with React Native and Expo, or with Flutter, so that one app covers both iPhone and Android. These are widely used tools, so another developer can take over your project later.

Does Kōten Studio build its own products?

Yes, Kōten Studio builds and runs its own products, including Konek (an app for sport and social outings), Apportia (a platform for business introductions) and Fideloop (loyalty cards in the phone's wallet). Running its own products is how the studio knows that what it delivers holds up.

How do I start a project with Kōten Studio?

To start a project, send a message through the contact form on koten.studio or email hello@koten.studio, saying what you need and where the project stands. Kōten Studio replies to every serious enquiry, and that first exchange is where the scope and the price are agreed, before any work begins.
